Located at the heart of Machane Yehuda Market, Azura has fed many generations in Jerusalem, and has been one of the Market's stamp restaurants for decades, serving everyone from working class laborers to politicians and celebrities.
Even after it rose to fame and became extremely popular, Azura kept its humility, and remained a loved eat-out spot for Jerusalemites, who enjoy populating the small space, sharing it with tourists of all kinds.
Eliran, Azura's (the founder's) son, is the restaurant Chef, and he continues to serve hungry fold with the legendary dishes of his father, all still safely rooted in the menu. From Kubbeh soup to Okra, everything is genuinely authentic home cooking. The menu also offers stuffed vegetables, Sofrito, oxtail stew, hummus and other treats.
Traditionally, all dishes are cooked in great big pots on low burners, to keep the food hot on your plate.
