The Khan Theatre

The Khan Theatre

The Khan Theater is a repertoire theater founded in Jerusalem 1967, boasting an average of 6 new productions a year. The Khan Theater is considered one of the leading theaters in Israel.

The theater is located in an impressive building in front of the old train station compound, between the pastoral Talbieh neighborhood and the vivid German Colony.

The theatre's art director is Michael Gurevich who is in charge of the creative process, chooses the repertoire, and even writes and directs some of the plays. The creative process of the theater is groundbreaking and unique: it begins with rehearsals without a play, to stimulate the actors' creative juices, but also to create a living theater show, the outcome of the authentic encounter between the director and the actors.

The theater is supported by the Jerusalem Foundation and the city's Municipality, as well as by public funds dedicated to educational and social projects.
